Barry Byrne, he was recommended to me by a friend that also had a loft conversion done by Barry. I can confirm that I was very happy with the build from start to finish. Barry dealt direct with building control and inspections, which was a relief as this was a job I did not have to deal with, I was onsite on a couple of the days inspections were carried out and the building inspector was very praising of there work. From getting to know Barry, he is very particular and is not happy unless he achieves perfection, the guys that work with Barry are also very knowledgeable and hard working. The end cost were not to far from the quoted cost, this was due to me adding things in the build, most of which had nothing to do with the original build. Any additional costs were well documented, and agreed prior to any work. If anything I thought there would be more extras on the job also as I did change a few things but Barry was happy not to charge for these services. The build was completed in the expected timeframe and everyone in the street were amazed at the speed in which the build was completed. Often asking for details of the builders as they were impressed. There were no snagging issues during the build, any issues found during the build were dealt with at the time with good communication. Communication was the key with Barry and his staff , they all knew what was going on at all times, and Barry kept us well informed of progress and expectations. The build site was kept very clean at all times and the guys always left the site clean, obviously materials were left on site, but it was very well planned and the materials normally got delivered when needed ,so they were not sitting around. To be honest apart from the noise of work and the scaffold , there were moments I forgot that works were being completed. Barry insisted on taking all materials up the scaffold to the loft rather than in through the house, Barry informed me that he liked to do all the messy work before installing the stairs therefore keeping dust and dirt down. And right at the end he would knock through the ceiling and put in the stair case, resulting in minimal mess and allowed the rest of the house to remain secure and warm. A great idea which resulted in more work for them, but like I have already stated these guys don't sherk hard work. I truly believe you will be happy with the result and the build if you were to choose Barry to complete your build, and he was always at hand to answer any questions at any point of the week ( including weekends and evenings) if I was to phone Barry regarding anything.
